This page essentially gives the lead up to 359. We've already had Dinah identified as the student in that page. Presumably that's her after not saying no in 360, and at a push Miel could be the one saying no. But 359 suggests that Dinah may not have had any choice. So there could be some good stuff coming up. Although I suppose that this is "that whole story" being told to Miriam by Adrian and Jacqui, as requested in 999, so it depends on how much they know. (Adrian of course mysteriously seems to know everything about everything these days.)

What follows is just me trying to remind myself what I think we've been given to understand...

Adrian is the son of Patrick and Miel.
Miriam is the daughter of Patrick and Jacqui.

They are very close in age, sharing the same star sign.

Patrick and Miel appear to have met Jacqui for the first time in early July 1986 (g22-g23), so a little earlier than this page. In a nice touch, Miel appears to be wearing the same necklace here as in 1010, and Jacqui doesn't have her tattoo there. So 1010 could be canon, and more or less contemporaneous with this page. Jacqui appeared to be living with Patrick and Miel at Christmas 1988 (255), by which time she did have her tattoo. Assuming normal rules apply, Miel and Jacqui both fell pregnant between around December 1988 and February 1989. I don't think we know how long Jakob stayed at Wilmot.

I think at this point we have to assume that Adrian is Miel's son and Miriam is Jacqui's daughter. This page makes it seem almost a certainty that Adrian is Patrick's son. And if this story is being told by Adrian and Jacqui, it seems unlikely that it's going to end with Miriam not being Patrick's daughter. Which is not to say that she is.

Early morning classes to stick it to the Americans, that does seem like something those snooty French profs would do. However, me thinks Monsieur Jakob is here for a different kind of “sticking it”, and not just to Americans...
