It does seem like he thinks something is seriously wrong with Erin, though, which is more situational awareness than he usually exhibits.

The group now gathering at the airport contains all the things in which Jakob seems to be specifically interested: Danielle, Erin, Pearl and the Watch. All the eggs in one basket, with Jakob's agent heading in to land. Coincidence, bait for a trap, or delivery?

Maybe he's expecting Miriam to use her magic touch.

And they have combustible chemistry. It's risky, but it might be the most efficient charging solution.
