I'm having some health problems at the moment and it's hard to get motivated to post my usual speculative rubbish comments dripping with insight. But I'm not sure any insight is required here; it's just beautiful, thank you.

Miraculously that may have worked, thanks. Or it could have been a coincidence. But then what's the difference between a miracle and a coincidence really? And that's my Christmas Day thought for this year.

If I may fill in,  it looks like those silhouettes are German HE-111s.   Of course, I'm sure no one picked a Heinkel on purpose.

Feel  better!  I enjoy reading the insights.

Interestingly, the only WW2 year where the calendar days match up is 1940 and 29-30 December 1940 was when a firestorm - greater even than the Great Fire of Lonodon - was unleashed in the City of London when (100,000) Incendiary and (24,000) high explosive bombs were dropped. The first group to use the incendiaries was Kampfgruppe (Bomb group) 100 which despatched 10 "pathfinder" He 111s....

I knew  those  WW2  spotter  cards I had from when I was a kid would  come in handy!  Sure  enough,  if you google  "WW2  Aircraft  Formation",  this photo pops  up  not  quite at the top,  but close.   It looks awfully familiar!   Again,  probably not a  real  connection to the story,  but  at  least  my  eyes are sharp!

Going on a greater stretch,  Danni might be posed on a B25,  but  its  a little harder to tell.   the windows  do  match a little for some variants.
