Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary 453: A Quick Question. Post by: Haight on November 06, 2015, 08:18:48 am I'm really wondering what Erin's thinking, especially because she seems to be looking right at Miriam's chest when she's making that decision.
I just realized, though, that my mental image of Erin is all wrong. I didn't take into account the fact that she has a Missouri accent. Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary 453: A Quick Question. Post by: Daphne on November 06, 2015, 08:50:04 am I didn't take into account the fact that she has a Missouri accent. And it's adorable! Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary 453: A Quick Question. Post by: Haight on November 06, 2015, 08:58:16 am And it's adorable! So, I'm kind of a dialect nerd, and I came to the understanding that what I thought was the Missouri accent is actually particular to the St. Louis area... so cue research. It also made Erin substantially more attractive, in my eyes. There's something about southern ladies... heh. Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary 453: A Quick Question. Post by: jmundt29 on November 06, 2015, 09:27:18 am Border state lady. Missouri seems to identify as Midwest now, more than Southern.
Like mother like daughter with that intimidation factor. Wow! Oh, and the possibility that Reka will interrupt or join some of the fun. Might be interesting to gauge Erin's reaction when she recognizes Reka by touch from last night. Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary 453: A Quick Question. Post by: GodWilling on November 06, 2015, 11:40:20 am I've always assumed they all talk like Columbo. Don't ruin this for me.
I can't help feeling that in panel 2 we're seeing some kind of localized gravity effect kicking in. "I strongly suspect that I won't be able to stop you. Or me." Does "And I hope I'm right" mean Erin isn't certain she can trust Miriam? |
