Title: The Changing Room
Post by: Daphne on May 24, 2015, 12:29:34 pm
When she wanders into a small clothing store in a foreign country, she had no idea what kind of changes were in store...

Didn't one of the most popular issues of Chrysalis (the flashback one with the different but equally fantastic art) do this too?  I'm even more interested to see how this turns out now.  ;D

The default link is not bringing up the issue since this is a one-shot not a series.

The issue can be found here: http://mindcontrolcomics.com/home/members/issue/changing_room/

Um, I'm not quite sure what you mean; I just logged in and was able to pull up the issue directly.

I think they're trying to access it as SOON as it appears on the front page, but before it's finished actually uploading yet.

Ah, Dam Square Amsterdam (http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/aerial-view-dam-square-amsterdam-27324211.jpg)

I had no idea that some of the recruitment techniques for the Red Light District were so... sophisticated.

Well, I do still write panel descriptions. :)  But it's fun to work out ways of telling the story with only images.

Didn't need dialogue.  The images alone tell the story perfectly.

I liked that the shopkeeper appeared to be dressed in a gold lamé outfit.  I've said it before at the MC Forum and I'll say it here--Hypnotized slaves look better in gold lamé outfits than just about anything else--even French maid outfits.  (I choose to believe the shopkeeper was Hypnotized as well, and commanded to recruit other women.)

Anyway, Good Job. Thank You.

Oh, I figured you still masterminded it - but visual storytelling without words has a charm all its own. Especially when the story is as sexy as this one.

Another "silent" comic; haven't seen one of those in a while.  Personally, I prefer it to have readable dialogue so that I can follow along with the characters' thoughts and motives as they undergo or force others to undergo transformations.  But that's just me.  Beyond that I was surprised about two things: the customer was turned into a hooker and not a manikin (as suggested by the window display) and she didn't even have to put the dress on in order to change, just touch it (?).

Actually, in context the window display suggests she was a hooker, not a mannequin, which I assume is why it was made so easy to identify the country (the Netherlands) and the city (Amserdam) and so my earlier refernce to the (in)famous Red Light District - vide http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Wallen
