The obvious one (and the one most likely to involve fun) would be the morning after "The Night Passed Over Them" in Marli's room.  However, it could be El Magnifico making his presence known to Claudia.  It could be next day worsening of the belltower symptoms (which would make Hitomi and Cait's conversation...interesting).  Or, it could be the aftermath of Q's spree.  The least likely one would be a flashback to Q's confession as Vik gets an update from Kanti.

I keep forgetting about that break-in in #161.  But I had thought that the purpose of the B&E was to photograph the notes on the experiment.  Perhaps the break-in has gone undetected, and Q saying "Thank God" is misplaced?

I had always - when I remembered it - thought that the break-in was Yves' doing.  I like laguna85's idea that it might be Rain, though.

Also, speaking of Q: is he legitimately trying to help out Vik, Laura et al.?  It would appear so.

Rain is our answer for everything because there doesn't seem to be anything she can't do.  The thick cloud of mystery about her, her origins, her goals, her desires, her exact powers, make her McGuffin personified for the audience at this point.

The conversation Q is having with Kanti and Vik seems to be about the file--which, I guess, contains the characteristics of #49.  If Q isn't playacting and he's actually trying to do the right thing, it would seem that his conversation is about the formula for and characteristics of #49.  If only he, Kanti, and Vik know about it and none of them took it, then there's a limit to the amount of mischief the culprit (whoever it is) could get into or think to start.  If Q IS playacting, he should be teaching courses in the Wilmot theatre program, he's excellent.

Okay, so there are certain people we can eliminate as suspects

Kanti and Vik were walking out of the building when the theft took place.

Laura and Adrian were busy (either with dinner or bedroom antics).  I don't dispute that Laura could have been conditioned to do something on her walk home, either by the Mal/Marli team or by Rain directly, but the timeline doesn't fit.  At the time the break-in happened she and Adrian were either racing through a meal, walking from whatever restaraunt to the SJI, or in bed.  Dani and Mallory are unaccounted for, they are possible suspects, but I tend to lean more toward Rain (who seems to know more about the whole situation than anybody else) or Marliese (Rain's petty theft specialist).

It COULD be Yves, but he doesn't strike me as ambitious enough to break into the chem lab, and he's not that slim.

Zenon did it.  Someone stole his stuff,  he found out there was research being done
And he broke in to steal it.

So we have magic ( voodoo, Wicca/Neo-Paganism, Occult: Mal's books, technomancy : the watch, steampunk: the watch tower, ) and science.: the love potion.   This comic needs a genie! Smiley

A genie or a succubus would be awesome (unless Rain already is one or the other).  However, even if that's coming in the future, let's enjoy what we have right now.Grin
