I thought it might be fun to summarize each character here for the readers' entertainment, especially new readers who are wondering who all these people are. Although I've tried to be as accurate as possible, if something here contradicts something in the comics, then the comics are right and this is wrong. Do not read too much into missing information; generally, it just means it has not been established in the comic.

Wilmot College is a private university in the small(-ish) town of Kearsarge, New Hampshire (approximately 43° 27′N, 71° 54′W). Kearsarge (named after the mountain to the south of the town) is roughly 25 miles northwest of Concord. It was founded in 1690, the first women's college in the United States (and the second oldest after Harvard). It became coeducational in 1983.

The various sports teams are the Wilmot Mantises.

The Wilmot College arms are:

A black shield, with a white bar, on which three red scallops (sable, on a fess argent three escallops gules). The supporters are a unicorn and a red praying mantis, standing on a green mountain. The motto below is "Letalior quam mas femina."

I totally forgot that Unflappable Sue had been tabbed as Adrian's Music Department Examiner.  I figure that wouldn't come up until after the current magical struggle.  Is it scheduled for before or after the Harem bash at Sawyer's?

The calendar in #79 indicates that Danielle and Jacqui have an event scheduled on January 28th, which is most likely the Harem bash at Sawyer's.  The calendar also indicates that Raven's first date night with Erin is January 12th.

If that is the case, then #116-#144 is 1/12.  #145-#168 is 1/13.  #169-#227 is 1/14.  #228-#307 is 1/15.  #308-#417 is 1/16.  #418-#517 is 1/17.  And #517-now is 1/18.

Sue's audition, at which she is informed of Adrian's upcoming audition, is in #487, i.e. on 1/17.  I don't think we've been given an actual date for the audition itself.

We have another ten days until the Harem Bash.  Currently we're averaging 68-69 issues per day, so we should hit the bash around issue #1286.  Or later, given that recent days have had more issues devoted to them, so the average per day is likely to go up as time goes by.

Though there could be a John Hopkins University somewhere, but that is the famous Medical Center by Baltimore.

We need an entire page update for the lycra generation in Jacqui and Adrian's story about Pat & Miel's university days.

Just out of curiosity, what got the Comic its name? Why is it called St. James Infirmary? Is it a reference to something in the universe, or a real world reference, or something else entirely?

I think we've been this way before. Google it with 'San Francisco' added and I think you will get a real world answer....

I am pleased to announce that through the heroic efforts of our indexer, Erik Ekstrom, we now have a on-line character index (https://mindcontrolcomics.com/comics/sji/characters/) for SJI! It lists all of the characters, and clicking through will show you which issues that character appears in. Have fun with it!

It includes characters who have never been drawn (e.g. Caitlyn's Mom) and characters that I didn't even remember having a name (e.g. Alexandra the store clerk).  I'm impressed.

This is a very impressive piece of work.

However, a few quick nitpicks:

• I think the characters "Alex" and "Alexandra" are actually the same person.
• As are the characters "Angela" and "Andrea".
  
• "Andre" seems to be a different person in G#5 and in the mainline comics.

I may have more once I make it past the A's.

I just found this via the links at the bottom of today's page. Very nice. It confirms Sawyer in #411.

The only wrong thing I've found is that I don't believe Jacqui is in #20 - I think we'd know if that were her arm. And yes, I was looking there to see if Rain was confirmed. (Unless Rain and Jacqui's secret history is that they're the same person...)

More of an omission: if Meghan and Claudia are in #53 then so are Ashley, Echo, and Nicole.

It would be nice if there were a link to the full characters list in the page for each character.

It's interesting if that's Meghan in #659, making her apparently someone Miriam knew at Barnard.

Then there's the question of whether Annie and Katie are the same person, as is hinted at by Q correcting himself in #269.
