What I like is you don't abandon the prior recruits.  Their individual stories are all good so keeping them in the story line makes it more interesting.  Sometimes there is a tendency to keep adding new conquests and not develop the existing ones.  The Nikki/Katie relationship is a great example.  Curious what you have in mind for Annie and Karen??  Again, great story.

Fools. The Goth chick is a Vampire. Daphne is introducing her now so that when she gets tired of writing By the Book, the Goth can rip the MCer's throat out, and when people flip out she can point to all of the set-up and say, "What? you didn't see this coming?"

This is all classic misdirection. Muhuhahahahahahahahaha!
